Surviving The Holidays Part 4

Now that we are one week into 2019, let’s talk about setting intentions and how to keep up the momentum in reaching your goals for the year. Self reflection of the past year can help you navigate the coming up year. If you find yourself realizing you didn’t reach all the goals you wanted last year, one way you can help yourself acheive some of these stuck plans is to do some self reflection and change up your style. Sometimes we are stuck because of some of our emotional wounds. Often times if it were as simple as saying " I want to lose weight" then we all would be accomplishing our goals. More often there is a REASON you struggle to get your goals done. Or there is a roadblock to following through with your plans come February. Often times we start out with a fresh perspective and loads of motivation after our holiday food coma, but then as time goes on our commitment dwindles. And again, this isn't for a lack of trying it is because we go back to old habits, old ways of thinking and feeling like we are a failure for dropping out on our plans. So first practice some self forgiveness when you drop the ball, remember your plans & make a concrete way to get back to those plans. BUT also work on understanding why you stopped committing to your resolutions. Do some self reflection, try journaling or examining your self talk (like if the voice in your head that tells you you aren't good enough). If you still find yourself stuck after trying these two things for a few weeks, seek outside help. It could be a therapist, a nutritionist(shoutout to @LVLHolistics) , a trainer. Find your community of helpers & begin to work on removing the issues that get you stuck!
