A Safe Place

I am a big believer in having a safe place to express vulnerable feelings and explore tough subjects. My office is set up to be an ideal safe place for clients to have the mental and physical room to process difficult emotions, express vulnerable ideas, and create a place of calm and growth for themselves.

In addition to having a physically safe place, I also believe that in order for therapy to be successful the client and therapist need to have a “good fit”.

Finding a Good Fit

Figuring out if you are a good fit with a therapist can take several sessions, or it may be a gut reaction you have on your first interaction with a therapist. An ideal fit would be one where you feel you can build trust with the therapist, AND know they will hold you accountable while also making space for uncomfortable subjects. Most often, successful therapy takes place in between feeling uncomfortable and feeling safe.

When looking for a good fit, look for a therapist whose style would suit you best, and who has expertise in what you are wanting to work on. Asking questions can help you determine if you would be able to build a working relationship with that therapist.

I offer free phone consultations so that we can discuss what you are needing from therapy, and assess if we would be a good fit.
